I've asked Microsoft to confirm whether Excel Live is built on top of the Fluid Framework technology - and whether we should expect more real-time "Live" collaboration experiences built on Fluid for Word, OneNote and other Office apps. Teams hosting and managing runs on top of the Azure Fluid Relay service, which is what supports Fluid Framework clients. Fluid Framework is Microsoft's fast co-authoring and embedding technology. I think the new Excel Live capability will use Fluid Framework technology under the covers like Live Share in Teams, which Microsoft introduced at Build 2022, does. (Users also can access the Excel Live experience from within Excel for the Web using Share and then "Work together in Teams.') Users can set permissions and use "Show Changes" to make sure edits were made during a meeting. The new feature supports Sheet Views so that everyone co-editing a workbook can create customized views to sort or filter information without disrupting anyone else's view. Once a workbook is shared, everyone in a meeting can edit the Excel file directly from the meeting screen. Like PowerPoint Live, which Microsoft introduced earlier this year, Excel Live allows users to access and share their latest Excel workbooks by using the Share tray in Teams. Microsoft officials announced Excel Live on Day 1 of the company's annual Inspire partner conference on July 19.Įxcel Live is meant to allow people in a meeting to be able to collaborate in real-time inside of Teams meetings on their Excel content. This feature will be available in public preview at the end of August. Its latest effort in this space is called Excel Live. Microsoft is continuing to make real-time collaboration actually work inside Teams.

If I cut up the concrete, then I could create a problem with water in the future which the concrete holds back. I really dislike the idea of attaching the deck to the house through the use of a ledger board, but because of the concrete pad (2” thick) attached to my house, it will be more trouble and work to build it freestanding. This means going above and beyond “minimum code”. My philosophy is to build it right so you only have to build it once. If you look in the background, you can see that the insects have gotten to our fence as well (a future project). Here are some pictures of deck and destruction. The only thing holding it together was the 2×12 decking boards. I was really scared that it was going to just fall apart that I never let anyone on it except myself.Which provides no support, but gave them an area to paint and “look” nice. After the Carpenter Ants ate through the main supports (2×12), they sistered some 1×6 blocks on the bottom of the supports.Supports (if you can call them that) sat directly on the ground, not below the frost line (which would be fine for a free standing deck, but not when you use wood not rated for ground contact). They used untreated wood and sat it directly on the ground, thus creating a feeding area within easy reach of the wood eating insects.I am thankful that the person that previously built it did not attach it to the house for many reasons. While this isn’t a reason to tear down a deck, the rotting wood, untreated lumber and Carpenter Ant infestation really put the proverbial nail in the coffin (or in this case – the deck). It was 8×10, large enough to fit a table and chairs but no grill and not much else. This past spring my wife and I tore down the original deck that was attached to our house. Check out this great story and this week’s Habitat Quick Fact. Plus, we will also make a $100 donation to Habitat for Humanity in Michael’s honor. Michael took the time to research decks and rebuilt it from the ground up with a stunning result.įor being this week’s Before and After winner, Michael gets a $50 gift card to Lowes, Home Depot, or Amazon. It was dangerous and liable of collapsing at any time. I love this week’s Before and After because it shows us a really dramatic deck transformation. You will be amazed how rigid the AirFrame is when fully inflated. There's also no need to worry about over inflating these AirPoles as they are high pressure and the pump will simply cease to work when they are full. You simply use a double-action hand pump (supplied) to inflate the AirFrame and it will be fully inflated in 60 seconds. The 'AirPoles' that create the frame are also inter-connected so that you can pump the entire frame up using just one valve.Ĭonversely if something happens to damage one of the 'AirPoles' it can be isolated from neighbouring poles using the in-built isolation valve therefore ensuring continued use of the tent while a repair or replacement is arranged. Kampa's new inflatable tents means there's no more traditional steel poles but instead an inflatable 'AirFrame' that is pre-attached to the awning and so there is now awkward or time-consuming assembly. The detachable bathtub groundsheet in this area can be removed and washed for convenience. This area is ideal for 'wet gear' storage, bikes, a kitchen area or just an area to sit and watch the World go by. Moving from the main living area - through the dividing doorway - you step into the front canopy/porch area - a completely enclosed space that features a large roll-to-the-side front door and massive panoramic windows. And next to the side door is the second of the Airflow windows. One the opposite side of the tent is a side door with a rain canopy overhead and a mesh double door. Next to this porch area is one of two Airflow windows that can be zipped out to provide maximum ventilation. This large 280x380cm area features a fully sewn-in groundsheet and on the right hand side a fully enclosed porch - or en suite extension as Kampa calls it - that can be used as a storage or toilet area and can be closed off with its own door. Stepping out from the bedroom area is the main living space. The Kampa Filey 6 sleeps 6 people in a single 3+3 inner with removable divider curtain. Kampa herald this as 'the ultimate AirFrame tent' and it certainly contains masses of excellent features and top quality materials. However there are issues with filter-branch, there have been some alternatives to replace this command such as git-filter-repo. In that guide it provides a script that use filter-branch command to rewrite the name and email if the commit email equals some value. To change the name and/or email of the entire history, of course filter-branch can do that as GitHub: changing author info mentioned. # Action: change "pick" to "edit" in the prompted script for commits Below is an example (for messy history, don’t use this method for inconsistent issue that may cause): # Change the last two commits. See Git book: rewrite history for more details. Then in the process you can use git commit -amend used above to do the change. To change the name and/or email of some specific existing commits, you can use rebase in an interactive mode which allows you to change the commit one by one. What git commit -amend does is replacing the tip of the current branch by creating a new commit., therefore it renew the commit date as well.Ĭhange author info of multiple existing commits $ git commit -amend -no-edit -reset-author $ git config user.email -reset-author, use the current user info. # Update the user info in configureation first, then amend the commit to $ git commit -amend -no-edit -author "john " # Use -author option to specify the new author and email. # Change the last commit to use new author and email. If you only want to change author info of the last commit, you can amend it to use new name and email. Because the other members may have did some work based on your commits. Take care to do that if you have pushed these commits to the remote server and there are other members who have access to that repository. In the post, you will learn how to do that. If you are not setting the author info correctly or just want to use another email to prevent it from being exposed, you may want to change the author name and/or email of the existing commits. This basic framework, in turn, may be seen in the self-descriptions used by CRT practitioners, albeit with a specific focus on race. The entire epistemic framework is accordingly a call to radical “activism” in the form of doing scholarship, pedagogy, and commentary about almost any aspect of society. The critical theorist, by implication, aims not to describe but to disrupt and overturn these alleged power disparities. that which purports to explain the world through conventional scientific and descriptive methods but which, in the eyes of critical theorists, really exists to reinforce the power relationships of a ruling class over the masses. Positioning themselves as a breakaway branch of Marxist thought from its Leninist-Revolutionary doctrines in the Soviet Union, these early critical theorists styled themselves in opposition to what Horkheimer called “traditional theory” – i.e. As Crenshaw recounts, “the organizers coined the term ‘Critical Race Theory’ to make it clear that our work locates itself in the intersection of critical theory and race, racism, and the law.”Ĭritical theory, in turn, refers to a broader school of thought emerging from Marxist theorists Max Horkheimer, Herbert Marcuse, and Theodor Adorno in the 1920s and ’30s. Crenshaw, who first proposed the name CRT at an academic workshop in the 1980s. This much is openly acknowledged by Kimberle W. Briefly summarized, though, CRT is an applied extension of critical theory to race. So what exactly is CRT? The concept itself is notoriously fluid, with even its proponents struggling to offer a coherent and simple definition. If, on the other hand, Reid and other media defenders of CRT are correct, then we should see little evidence of CRT’s permeation beyond advanced law school seminars until the right made it into a “bogeyman” on the Fox News broadcast, to quote their characterization. If CRT’s academic presence was indeed growing rapidly in education programs over the last decade, then Carlson was responding – albeit bombastically – to a real and observable trend that predates September 2020. The tension between these two competing claims is obvious. From mid-2021 to the present, the main defenders of CRT have advanced similar claims, suggesting it was just an obscure and largely innocuous academic theory until the political right made it into an issue by falsely alleging its expansion into teacher training in the very same education programs that Delgado and Stefancic bragged about. NPR singled out the date of the Carlson broadcast and its guest Chris Rufo of the Manhattan Institute as the “ origin” point of the CRT debate, as did The Atlantic, Time Magazine, and several other outlets. According to the New Yorker, conservatives “invented the conflict over Critical Race Theory.” MSNBC host Joy Reid repeatedly claimed that CRT was just an obscure theory from advanced seminars in legal academia, insisting that the political right had “manufactured” a controversy by falsely claiming that its doctrines had migrated into the broader education system. This celebratory account of CRT’s growing influence contrasts sharply with the flurry of media depictions in recent years, almost all of which attribute a “moral panic” over CRT to a September 2020 episode of Tucker Carlson’s program on Fox News. “Seeing critical race theory take off in education has been a source of great satisfaction for the two of us,” he continues, noting, “Critical race theory is in some ways livelier in education right now than it is in law…” Just over a decade ago, leading CRT scholars Richard Delgado and Jean Stefancic boasted about how this school of thought had moved beyond its law school origins and “taken root in other academic disciplines, including sociology, social work, and education.” According to Delgado, “We didn’t set out to colonize, but found a natural affinity in education” schools and programs. The response from CRT’s defenders has been peculiar, to put it mildly. The concept of Critical Race Theory (CRT) has sparked heated debate in recent years, particularly after conservative activists singled out this school of thought as a hotbed of applied Marxism in both higher and K-12 education.
